Gutter Installation Services in San Diego
A properly installed gutter system is essential for directing rainwater away from your home or business, preventing foundation damage, erosion, and costly repairs. Without an efficient gutter system, water can pool around the base of your property, seep into your foundation, and cause structural problems over time.
Why Proper Gutter Installation Matters
Gutters are more than just an add-on to your roof—they are a crucial part of your property’s drainage system. Without an effective gutter system, rainwater can flow uncontrolled, leading to serious damage such as soil erosion around your foundation, rotting fascia boards, and leaks in basements or crawl spaces. Poorly installed gutters can also lead to standing water, which attracts pests and causes premature wear and tear.
With professional installation, your property is equipped with a system designed to channel water efficiently, reducing the risk of costly repairs. We customize our installations to fit the structure of your home or business, ensuring optimal performance and durability.
Our Gutter Installation Process
Our installation process for gutters begins with a thorough consultation to assess your property and understand your specific drainage needs. We evaluate the best placement for gutters and downspouts to ensure maximum efficiency. Next, we help you choose the best materials, whether it's aluminum, steel, or copper, based on durability, style, and budget. Once the plan is finalized, our skilled team precisely measures and cuts gutters to fit your property perfectly.
We securely attach the gutters, ensuring proper pitch and alignment for smooth water flow. Downspouts are strategically placed to direct water away from your foundation, preventing pooling and erosion. After installation, we conduct a final inspection to check for seamless functionality and proper drainage, guaranteeing a high-quality, long-lasting result.

Frequently Asked Questions
There is one case for the other order. If you want the gutters a color they do not come in from the factory, it makes sense to install them first and then prime and paint them so they match the fascia exactly.
Because we do both the painting and the gutters, we can sequence it properly: paint the fascia completely, install the gutters, then prime and paint the gutters to match. On a replacement job we take the old gutters off first, sand the chipping and peeling paint that is almost always hiding behind them, prime and paint the fascia, and then put the new gutters up.
If the existing paint is sound, not chipping or peeling, most premium exterior paints today are self-priming and no separate primer is needed. Sherwin-Williams SuperPaint, Sherwin-Williams Duration and Dunn-Edwards Evershield all fall into that group.
New or bare gutters are different. Unpainted aluminum needs a bonding primer to hold onto. We use Dunn-Edwards Ultra-Grip Premium or Sherwin-Williams Extreme Bond; XIM urethane-modified acrylic bonding primer also works well.
Either way, power wash them first so they are genuinely clean. If time and budget allow, a light scuff with 220 grit or a maroon scotch brite pad before priming makes a real difference to adhesion.
The higher the sheen, the less dirt sticks to the surface and the easier it rinses off, simply because a shinier film is smoother. Satin is the compromise we recommend: enough sheen to shed dirt, not so much that it draws attention.
Semi-gloss is a perfectly good choice too. Gutters are a small part of the house, about the same visual weight as a garage door or front door, which are usually semi-gloss anyway. If shine genuinely bothers you, a lower sheen is only marginally worse for dirt pickup.
Properly means power washing off dirt and mildew, sanding with 220 grit to give the primer microscopic teeth to grab, a bonding primer, then two coats of a premium 100 percent acrylic exterior paint in satin.
Where you land in that range depends on two things: sun and salt. Gutters that get direct sun all day, and homes close enough to the coast to get salt air, sit nearer the 15-year end. Further inland and out of constant sun, closer to 20.
Bronze is the third common choice, and it works particularly well on homes with brown roofs, on Mediterranean styles, and against tan stucco.
Black gutters on a white house have become popular on newer builds and modern homes, especially where the windows are already black, because it ties the trim together.
