    Painting Questions

    Can you paint while we are living in the house?
    Yes. We regularly paint occupied homes. When ceilings are included, the usual order is ceilings, walls, doors, then baseboards, but we can plan around a bedroom or home office you need to use. Discuss access during the estimate so the sequence reflects how you live in the house, rather than assuming every room will stay available throughout the job.
    How do you protect floors and furniture before interior painting?
    We tape red rosin construction paper over the floor and cover furniture with painter's plastic that can be secured in place. The tape is selected for the flooring, and our painters lift ladders rather than drag them. Most customers move furniture to the center of the room; if you want us to move it, ask to include that work in the estimate.
    Does my interior estimate have to include every room and surface?
    No. We price ceilings, walls, doors and casings, baseboards, and closets separately, so you can choose the work that matters now. Ceilings that are still in good condition and closets hidden behind clothes are often the first places to trim the scope. The preparation on the surfaces you do choose stays in the job.
    When does cabinet painting make more sense than replacement?
    Painting is worth considering when the cabinet boxes and doors are sound and you want to change the color, not the layout. Our process includes degreasing, sanding, dust removal, BIN shellac primer, and a cabinet finish rather than ordinary wall paint. If the cabinets are badly damaged or you want a different door style or kitchen layout, compare refacing or replacement before committing to paint.
